At ISC West we were introduced to a new trend for the digital security and surveillance market - edge recording. We previously discussed how this trend could disrupt some NVR manufacturers. Edge recording technology runs video management software (VMS) directly through the IP camera and records video to flash memory. With this technology, the VMS is no longer required to have a separate recording or management server for the processing and recording of video. We are going to dig deeper into SD cards used for Edge Recording and analyze what this means for the market.
