Staples is Selling Microsoft Office, How About You?

 

Are you asking your customers if they need Microsoft Office? If not, you are missing out on a valuable and easily attached sale and pushing your customers to your biggest competition, your local big box retailer. The number one reason that customers state as the reason they didn’t buy office is they simply were never asked.

Business Workers Use Microsoft Office

Let’s face it, your customers need Office. Unless you have a customer who is using their PC as a single line of business application workstation, they will be using Office in some capacity. Microsoft data backs this up; 7 out of 10 business customers buy Microsoft Office within 60-days of PC purchase when not sold at the time of purchase. At the very least they will want to send e-mail and there is a 75% likelihood that e-mail will go through their in-house Exchange server.

Microsoft Office is The World Standard

Despite attempts from various online competitors Microsoft Office is the dominant application in use by business today. The Office install base roughly mirrors the Exchange install base as indicated in this chart. While the degree of market share varies from region to region Office is the primary work suite world wide.
